Preparation Is Key

Your Consultant will give you as much information as possible prior to the interview, however, if you are unsure about location etc – contact your Consultant and confirm all details are correct.
Make sure you have the Job Spec and Company Brief from your Consultant and additional info like; details on direction/location etc – always get a contact phone number if the interview takes place outside office hours.
Give plenty of time to get to the interview – it is always best to be early.
Have some questions prepared, so you can ask during the interview if given the opportunity.

The Interview

First impressions do last and your appearance can influence the interviewers opinion of you.
Here are some tips to make that first impression last!

Be well groomed, for girls with long hair; a simple ponytail will suffice; short hair should always be neat & tidy – guys, this applies to you too!
Unless otherwise advised, wear a business suit or similar that looks smart.
If you wear make-up on a daily basis, keep it natural looking, we would also suggest minimal jewellery.
Bring a CV with you to the interview; it helps you refresh your memory, it also helps you keep your hands busy, if nervous.
When introduced to interviewers, smile and shake hands in a positive manner, this shows confidence and professionalism.
Eye contact is important; if two people/Panel are interviewing you, when answering questions, look at both/all interviewers as this establishes you are acknowledging all interviewers in the room.
If you are asked a question you don’t understand, don’t wing-it! Ask the interviewer to clarify the question, and then proceed to answer.
Always be honest throughout the interview – this may help with any nerves!!
If you are asked ‘do you have any questions?’ during the interview – have some questions prepared, such as;

If you have all the information you need – just say, ‘No thank you, I have no questions, I did some research on your company website and it’s very informative, – thank you again’.
